Description
We fell in love with the fruitiness and sweetness of this Costa Rica coffee after we had the first sip. Flavour notes include mandarin, peach and tropical fruits, and layers of white chocolate.
Bean Voyage is a feminist, non-profit organisation working with women coffee producers with the objective of eradicating gender gap in farming communities. They are supporting 120 smallholder women farmers like Elieth Valverde which produces Pacamara and F1 variety on a farm located at 1,600 masl in Frailes.
They have created women-only communities in many areas in Costa Rica, and done in-person and digital training involving higher level of technology to track progress and test the women producers on their knowledge. Each farmer receives a minimum of 80 hours of training on 5 modules – farm finance, production, processing, quality analysis and gender/community.
